I posted it off hoping she would like it, not expecting to hear much back until after christmas as it was supposed to be a stocking filler.
Well... I guess her mummy was itching to see her little doll's expression!
I got a tweet saying she got it in the post & shortly after another tweet with Evan wearing it!!!!
Evan was sooo pleased with her pirate hat & scarf!
That is what makes me love my job! The satisfaction of the product being finished is great but the smile on the kids faces when they get it is what I work hard for!

Funny Banana - Mother & Baby Mega Give Away

Funny Banana joins our Mega Give Away with a T-Shopper!

The T-Shopper is the Ultimate Recycled Shopping Bag that everyone is talking about.

With plastic bags being an endangered species, we try to find more and more solutions... Re-usable bags?!! Yes!!! But at what cost?!

"
T-Shoppers were once a Top, a T-shirt, a cardigan, a hoody, a vest or any garment that we once wore as a top, they are then being reinvented in to something useful that helps the environment twice, by not using a plastic bag, and not disposing of a garment."

T-Shopper design in give away may vary from picture.

I have several of these bags myself and I can seriously vouch for them, the cashiers always comment on them! They are seriously sturdy and fit a lot of volume in them. You will be surprised!

You can buy them here for seriously good value! You can even buy them in multipacks and save even more!

May u have a Shay Day

Two Choices
What would you do?....you make the choice.

Don't look for a punch line, there isn't one. Read it anyway.
My question is: Would you have madethe same choice?

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended.

After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question: 'When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection.
Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son? 'The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued.

'I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.'

Then he told the following story:

Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, 'Do you think they'll let me play?' I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father I also understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play.
The boy looked around for guidance and said, 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning.
'Shay struggled over to the team's bench and with a broad smile, put on a team shirt.
I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart.

The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three. In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again.
Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?
Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball. However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact.

The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow groundball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over.

The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.
Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates.
Everyone from the stands and bothteams started yelling, 'Shay, run to first! Run to first!'
Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.
He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.
Everyone yelled, 'Run to second, run to second!'
Catching his breath, Shay awkwardlyran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base. By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball, the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team.
He could have thrown the ball to the second baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head.
Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay'

Shay reached third base because the opposing short stop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of thirdbase, and shouted, 'Run to third! Shay, run to third!' As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!' Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team.

'That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, 'the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'.

Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making me so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

NOW A LITTLE FOOT NOTE TO THIS STORY:
We all send thousands of jokes through e-mail without a second thought, but when it comes to sending messages about life choices, people hesitate. The crude, vulgar, and often obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.

If you're thinking about sharing this message, chances are that you're probably sorting out the people in your address book who aren'tthe 'appropriate' ones to receive this type of message

Well, the person who sent you this believes that we all can make a difference.

We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the 'natural order of things'. So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us with a choice:
Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?

A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it's least fortunate amongst them.

You now have two choices: 1. Delete 2. Forward

I chose to share this. May your day, be a Shay Day.

The Art of Waxing!

I just received the following which is currently doing the rounds among a couple of friends. It may bring tears to your eyes but i'm pretty sure this may sound familar to some of the Ladies out there.....

The art of Waxing...

For those of you who wax, you will understand fully and those who don't will never make this mistake. Better go pee before you read this. This Is by far one of the funniest things I have ever read.

Hair Removal...

(I don't have a clue as to who wrote this, but...WHAT A RIOT!)

All hair removal methods have tricked women with their promises of Easy, painless removal - The Epilady, scissors, razors, Nair and now...the Wax.

Read on........

My night began as any other normal weeknight. Come home, fix dinner, Play with the kids. I then had the thought that would ring painfully in my mind for the next few hours:

'Maybe I should pull the waxing kit out of the medicine cabinet.' So I headed to the site of my demise: the bathroom.

It was one of those 'cold wax' kits. No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm and you peel then apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else) and you pull the hair right off.

No muss, no fuss. How hard can it be? I mean, I'm not a genius, but I am mechanically inclined enough to figure this out. (YA THINK!?!)

So I pull one of the thin strips out. Its two strips facing each other stuck together. Instead of rubbing them together, my genius kicks in so I get out the hair dryer and heat it to 1000 degrees.

('Cold wax,' yeah...right! ) I lay the strip across my thigh. Hold the Skin round it tight and pull. It works!

OK, so it wasn't the best feeling, but it wasn't too bad. I can do this!

Hair removal no longer eludes me! I am She-rah, fighter of all wayward body hair and maker of smooth skin extraordinaire.

With my next wax strip I move north. After checking on the kids, I sneak back into the bathroom, for the ultimate hair fighting championship. I drop my panties and place one foot on the toilet. Using the same procedure, I apply the wax strip across the right side of my bikini line, covering the right half of my hoo-ha and stretching down to the inside of my butt cheek (it *was* a long strip) I inhale deeply and brace myself....RRRRIIIPP P!!!!

I'm blind!!! Blinded from pain!!!!.... OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!! !

Vision returning, I notice that I've only managed to pull off half the strip. CRAP! Another deep breath and RIPP! Everything is spinning and spotted. I think I may pass out...must stay conscious... must stay conscious.

Do I hear crashing drums??? Breathe, breathe...OK, back to normal.

I want to see my trophy - a wax covered strip, the one that has caused me so much pain, with my hairy pelt sticking to it. I want to revel in the glory that is my triumph over body hair. I hold up the strip.

There's No hair on it. Where is the hair??? WHERE IS THE WAX???

Slowly I ease my head down, foot still perched on the toilet. I see the hair. The hair that should be on the strip...it's not! I touch. I am touching wax.

I run my fingers over the most sensitive part of my body, which is now covered in cold wax and matted hair. Then I make the next BIG mistake...remember my foot is still propped upon the toilet? I know I need to do something. So I put my foot down.

Sealed shut! My butt is sealed shut. Sealed shut!

I penguin walk around the bathroom trying to figure out what to do and think to myself 'Please don't let me get the urge to poop. My head may Pop off!' What can I do to melt the wax?

Hot water!! Hot water melts wax!! I'll run the hottest water I can Stand into the bathtub, get in, immerse the wax-covered bits and the wax Should melt and I can gently wipe it off, right??? *WRONG!!!!!! !*

I get in the tub - the water is slightly hotter than that used to torture prisoners of war or sterilize surgical equipment - I sit.

Now, the only thing worse than having your nether regions glued together, is having them glued together and then glued to the bottom of the tub...in scalding hot water. Which, by the way, doesn't melt cold wax.

So, now I'm stuck to the bottom of the tub as though I had cemented myself to the porcelain!! God bless the man who had convinced me a few months ago to have a phone put in the bathroom!!!! !

I call my friend, thinking surely she has waxed before and has some secret of how to get me undone. It's a very good conversation starter 'So, my butt and hoo-ha are glued together to the bottom of the tub!'

There is a slight pause. She doesn't know any secret tricks for removal but she does try to hide her laughter from me. She wants to know exactly where the wax is located, 'Are we talking cheeks or hole or hoo-ha?'

She's laughing out loud by now...I can hear her. I give her the rundown and she suggests I call the number on the side of the box.

YEAH!!!!! Right!! I should be the joke of someone else's night.

While we go through various solutions. I resort to trying to scrape the wax off with a razor . Nothing feels better than to have your girlie goodies covered in hot wax, glued shut, stuck to the tub in super hot water and then dry-shaving the sticky wax off!!

By now the brain is not working, dignity has taken a major hike and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need Post-Traumatic Stress counseling for this event.

My friend is still talking with me when I finally see my saving grace....the lotion they give you to remove the excess wax. What do I really have to lose at this point? I rub some on and OH MY GOD!!!!!!!

The scream probably woke the kids and scared the dickens out of my friend.

It's sooo painful, but I really don't care. 'IT WORKS!! It works !!'

I get a hearty congratulation from my friend and she hangs up. I successfully remove the remainder of the wax and then notice to my grief and despair...THE HAIR IS STILL THERE....... ALL OF IT!

So I recklessly shave it off. Heck, I'm numb by now. Nothing hurts. I could have amputated my own leg at this point.

Next week I'm going to try hair colour...

Greens Cupcake Mix Review

These has been made by my 3 yr old boy with assistance from me... Using a packet of Greens' Thomas The Tank Engine Cupcake Mix.

I was pleased by how simple it was to make it but appaled at the taste of the cake and icing! My son only ate the cake because I told him he couldn't eat the train faces if he didn't finish the cake.

We normally make everything from scratch, my mum gave me this mix cause my son loves Thomas the Tank Engine but from us it's a Thumbs Down!!!!!

What to get my 19 Yr old brother????

Ok, I officially have a crisis...
Its my youngest brothers birthday on the 28th of this month and I haven't managed to get him anything yet...yes, I know, I have 2 days... I have already told him his gift might be late.

He is the hardest to buy a gift for out of my 3 brothers...so far I have managed to give him a tshirt or footie stuff on EVERY special occasion...I officially suck now!

Last Christmas I asked my mum and apparently he wanted some bling, some "man" earrings to be exact, so I went in search and bought him two pairs...for me they all looked the same but he seemed to be pretty pleased.

Its now his 19th birthday and being the big sister I wanted to give him a meaningful present, although I am strapped for cash and can't afford much right now, I want this present to be different!

I thought of some dog tags with a custom message, something like "Big Little Bro" because he is the youngest of us but yet the biggest! I have looked on Misi, Etsy, Coriandr, Artfire, Zibbet, Folksy and up to now no luck!!!!

I am really up for suggestions! Some ladies in Twitter suggested IwantOneofThose.com and I went there but couldn't see anything that wouldn't be tossed a side (within budget) so I quit on there!

I have no clue though!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! Please help!!!

Hi Ho Hi Ho to work I go.....

Twitter Addict

They say the first step to recovery is to admit you are addicted...So...I am a Tweeter addict!!!

There, I said it! It all started innocently, I had set up a tweeter account ages ago and never really went on it...until I discovered a Twitter application for my iPhone!

For some silly reason my new baby girl feeds much better (and amazingly gets less wind!) if I breast feed her laying in bed, so naturally I get bored while doing this so started tweeting away and now this is my vice while b'feeding!

It's addictive, it's like when you have something on auction on eBay! You just have to keep on constantly checking!!!

I must say there are some wonderful people on there!

One of them being Karin that runs www.cafebebe.co.uk, which is an awesome website, it even has great competitions to enter! There is also a great page on there with loads of businesses run by mummies like me...I'm on there too!

So go and visit www.cafebebe.co.uk

Find us on twitter as @myfunnybunny!
Tweet you later!

Swine Flu Recovery

You all know my 3 year old son caught the Swine Flu which I told you about in my previous post.

I am very pleased to report that he is now over it thanks to the Tamiflu capsules! He did a course of 5 days on those which was not easy to "trick" him to take!

Thank God he made a full recovery now and he is all nice and happy again!

Thanks for all your support.

Swine Flu

We all know about the swine flu and specially us with little ones indoors are mortified by it!

My 3 year old son has been sick since about Thursday with fever, he's been getting better with Nurofen for kids but eventually the fever creeps back...he then started getting some phlem, a cough and a sore throat.

I have given him Nurofen, Calpol, some sweeties and syrup for his throat.
This morning he was burning up with fever again so I though I better call NHS Direct Helpline to get some advice.

So indeed I did and explained everything, they asked me some questions and then advised me to call the Pandemic Helpline. When I did they also asked me some questions and at the end they gave me a reference number to go and get the Tamiflu capsules for my son from the local swine flu clinic.

I went running like mad to get the capsules leaving my son and my 7 wk old baby girl with my grandparents (left on tip toes so my son wouldn't notice I left otherwise there would be crying galore!).

To my luck when I get there (out of breath and looking like I'm homeless lol) they tell me that I need the ID of both me and my son, which I didn't have!
So here I go again, running like mad to get home and pick up our ID's and back again... All this stressing about my son and my daughter because if she woke up she would need breast feeding and she was already asleep for 4 hours so she could wake up any min!
When I got there luckily there was no one in front so I got served straight away and ran back home again like a mad woman!
Luckily my little one was still asleep and I managed to give my son the medication mixed with a spoonful of yoghurt.

As you imagine I am absolutely terrified, not only for my son but for my 7 wk old girl too. On top of that my family has all been in contact with my son while sick and my untie is currently in labour!

I pray that everything and everyone will be fine and thank all my Twitter followers for all their support so far.

I will let you know what happens.

Labour inducing Acupuncture & Reflexology

As you already know I was overdue with my pregnancy and tried all the old wives tales to try and make labour come...sadly nothing worked.

I was desperate, really desperate, so I went online to research some more and came across some comments suggesting acupuncture and reflexology, as I am much into natural therapies I started researching into these more in depth. I read in many websites and blogs about positive experiences and it seemed to work for some people so I went in search of nearby practices.
I enquired about peoples experience and also the prices, I was still reluctant though as I am terrified of needles and also my pockets were nearby empty due to the moving and getting stuff for the baby etc. I came across a "clinic" (amongst many others) which I already knew about and they told me that it generally works and that I should bring my hospital bag and notes just in case... They told me I could have a treatment of just acupuncture or I could have reflexology too, which seemed to be more effective and quicker at bringing on labour.
The place is in Lakeside Shopping Centre, Thurrock, Essex (England) and I think it is called "Acupunture & Herbs", lady was really friendly and made an appointment for the next day for me. The acupunture was £25 and the reflexology was £50, it was actually the cheapest I had come across and since it was a place that I was familiar with as I have gonne passed it many times, I stuck with it!
I went on the 15/06/09 at around 2pm (an hour early) and they said it was fine that they could see me. I was a little aprehensive because of the needles but everyone was so friendly and made me feel very at ease...the needles were very thin (came in sterile packet which was opened in front of me) and barely felt them going in, I did read on the internet that you can fit 5 acupunture needles in 1 normal hospital needle, I only felt anything when the doctor tweeked them and even then I didn't really feel them, I felt more my muscles being tickled! The baby certainly felt something cause she started moving around a lot, they said this was normal and a good sign.
They then left me to relax in the room with the needles in for about 30 mins, after that the doctor came to take them out, easy peasy!

I then had the reflexology and this was really great, I would definately have this again even just to destress!

Reflexology is a special foot massage, basically every area of your foot corresponds to a part of your body. They put my feet in a special herbal foot bath to stimulate my circulation and then I had a wonderfully long foot massage done by the doctor. I got out of there super relaxed.

After I finished we went for late lunch and a walk around the shops... got home and while making late dinner (Spaghetti Bolognese @ 9.15pm) for the family and parents in law (on hols over from South Africa) MY WATERS BROKE!
So long story short...I am a believer in Chinese natural medicine and recommend it to anyone!
The story of the birth for those now curious is coming soon! Now difficult to write too much at a time with the baby, hubby looking after baby Mylie and Stefan for me to write this...now have to go and put my Stefan to bed!

40+ Weeks Baby now overdue!!!

It has been a while since I posted... which is highly unusual for me.

As you noticed I announced we found a house and were moving and we managed to do it approx 2 weeks ago... yep, I moved at 38 weeks pregnant... it was a nightmare and I would NOT recommend it to anyone!

Fortunately for us baby Miley did not come out while we were moving but she is just as stubborn as mummy and is driving us nuts because now she doesn't want to come out!

We have managed to get rid of a lot of boxes and the kids room is sorted out nicely, everything ready for the baby...now, its just waiting for her!

I have tried lots of old wives tales to get labour induced... spicy food, plenty of walking, massage, nookee nookee ;), Rasperry Leaf Tea / Capsules, praying and nothing has worked so far.

She keeps on threatening with plenty of contractions etc but no sign of her yet!

I apologise for putting everything else on hold but its been hectic and stressful around here... I will let you all know when she decides to make an appearance!

Enjoy the weather!

35 weeks pregnant...Packing & Moving!

I finally found a place to move!

Yes, after much looking and looking and looking...

I wanted to initially move before the baby came but nothing was right with all the things we were looking for combined.

Some of our requirements were that we preferred a private landlord, a 3 bedroom allowing pets with garden and parking!

So we kept on searching but found very little we liked within our budget, so needless to say that with the baby due shortly we gave up the search and swapped bedrooms around giving my son the biggest bedroom so that he would get used to the idea of sharing it with his baby sister before she was born... ease him into the idea before she was even here.

But we still wanted to move before winter because the house we are in has a few problems.

The radiators don't work properly, therefore in winter it costs me about £10 for 3 days if I want to have the heating on and even then the house still feels cold! The double glazing is the very first that came out, so needless to say that coupled with bad isolation its absolutely useless!

In my kitchen there are holes in the walls behind the cupboards so the kitchen is freezing cold and if you open the cupboards you can even feel a "breeze"! The wallpaper is coming off around the house because the just painted over it instead of taking it off.

I love animals but its a bit much going to the toilet in the morning and having slugs visiting you! I really can't find the hole where they come in, it looks like they are coming from behind the wallpaper somewhere but I am not gonna rip off the paper to find out because they will charge it off my deposit! The whole top floor creaks like a haunted house...and the garden is small and on a slope!

On top of that I have a horrid neighbour that keeps on blocking our shared drain in the garden, with 5 dogs and a cat, nothing against pets as I have 2 dogs, 3 fish and a bunny, but these are big dogs trapped in a small house with a small garden, and not taken out for walks or anything...they all wake up at around 4.30am start with the barking and the neighbour starts with the screaming...waking us and my son up all the time!

I am not very superstitious but since we moved to this house my oldest dog (Yorkie) didn't like it very much and has turned into a very nervous dog...like she is on guard most of the time (dogs have more heightened senses than people).

Moan over....pregnant lady with hormones here!

So finally... we found a lovely house, it actually found me! I was fed up of looking, finding something we liked then calling and the people telling me "Sorry no pets" or something else was missing so I placed a free ad on The Gum Tree website saying exactly what we needed and who we were with a pic of my doggies.

I told my husband that I would give it up to God to give us something adequate..."Let them find us", I wasn't expecting it to work so quickly! God works in mysterious ways :)

So a lady emailed me and told me the specifications of the house, the house is hers bought 5 yrs ago and she has been living in it since, she wants to relocate to be close to her family and wants to do so before June! Everything was exactly what we wanted and she was fine with my dogs.

I thought this was too good to be true, I asked her to send some pics but didn't know what to expect...but when I got them... the house was lovely. We made an appointment to o and see the house that evening and it was great! There are a few things that are not perfect but its things we can do ourselves or that they have said they are gonna deal with.

The pic on top is of the open plan kitchen...which by the way I love! It is a little bit over our original monthly budget but I think its worth it. I am really happy about finding the house but everything is rush, rush... I am due about a week and a half after we move...

I have about 17 days to pack and being 35 weeks pregnant I find it very hard to get things done as fast as I want to!

Oh well...I just hope this baby doesn't decide to come out earlier on me!!!!

Thanks for reading! Had to get my stress thoughts out!!!!

I Love Cats

"I LIKE CATS TOO, LETS EXCHANGE RECIPES."

I just wanted to share what I found on a blog named Winklepots which you can find here

I am a pet lover...I have had too many dogs and cats to count in my whole life and far too many other animals too. My grandad used to rescue every stray he could find so we almost had a whole zoo in our little farm / villa.

I do have 2 dogs and a bunny which are part of my family today... but this one is just "belly laugh" funny. I spent ages laughing at this one!

Disclaimer: Please don't place you pets in the oven!!!!!

HANDMADE CAMBRIDGE FAIR

I finally managed to download the pics for the Handmade Cambridge!

Here is my stall! I wasn't as prepared as I would have liked to be and space was limited, but considering it was my first time at a craft fair I don't think I did bad at all!

I do hope to be better prepared for the next one but with all that is going on, its gonna be a tough one! For more pics of this fair and other events just click on the photo link on the right.

I did meet some really nice people and saw some really nice stuff and have a bit of a wish list which I don't have £ for cause I am so strapped lately, specially with the baby coming in less than 2 months!

We will be at the Handmade Oxford Craft Fair in November!

Let me know if you were there & if you enjoyed it!

Cuteness for my cutie coming!

OOOOOhhhhhh aren't these cute!?

I couldn't resist these cuties, I saw them on Misi in Pink Fairy Cake Shop.

They were a little different though, they were lighter pink and made in regular yarn. I requested this custom pair in a lovely bamboo yarn which is mega soft and silky, ideal for babies.

The shade of yarn is called Cherry lips I believe, aren't they soooo adorable! They look a bit like Crocs which makes them ubber cute.

As you probably know by now I am expecting a little girl soon. I am almost 32 weeks so I have just under 2 months to get everything ready and I am struggling to be honest!!! Anyone want to come and help?

I still have so many bits to buy still and not enough time and money!!!

I can't wait for my baby shoes to arrive though!!!
