Our very first event!

Charity Fun Day @ Memorial Green Hall, Essex CM11, UK in aid of Wish Upon A Star Children's Charity

Our very 1st stall at an event! It was great fun!

I was extremely nervous but once I was there it was fine, as this was my first and very last minute I hadn't made my "proper table cloth yet!
I have a very inventive idea for my table cloth which I will tell you about when I start doing it, but its definately meant to catch people's atention!
On the photo I was still getting stuff ready!
We didn't have that many visitors because it was a horrible rainy day but I still made sales and had a lot of fun! I was really tired at the end though...all the bending carrying and standing made me amazingly tired! I am 29 weeks pregnant though so its to be expected!
I met some lovely people and had a few laughs!

I am a FABRIC ADDICT!!!!

Ok I am now officially a fabric addict... they say the first step to getting cure is owning up to your addiction but I am definately not gonna get cured.

I had a bit of a little fetish for japanese fabric but never gave in due to the fact that I just couldn't find a good selection at the right price...well now I have!

I have been extremely busy making all sorts of new stuff to "properly launch" My Funny Bunny, going at it full swing now. Got a fair next w/e and the w/e after and really have to go for it!!!!

We have loads of new stuff coming up which is really exciting and amazing but I am first gonna go to the shows and then put it up on Misi (in £) and Etsy (in $)! So for a sneak preview you will have to visit us at the Handmade Cambridge Fair!

So there you have it, my beautiful new fabrics (I borrowed the pics, hope they don't mind!), I bought them just half an hour ago and I allready so anxious to get them! Apparently they post them out the next day by 1st class so should get them in time to make lots of goodies!
I will also have a sneak preview of our next give away donator soon, so keep an eye out!
Don't forget you can still enter this months give away here!!
Ta for now! Monica xxx

My first Sale on Etsy!

Yay! My first Etsy sale!

Ok not exactly one of my own handmade items...a vintage bracelet I had for sale in my shop, but still reason to celebrate!

I spent the whole day at my mums house so I could get some more bits done and my little Stefan would get a change of scenery and get to play outside in the garden as my mum's garden is HUGE!

It was an amazingly lovely sunny day yesterday...the first lovely sunny day so far in Essex, UK!

When I got home and checked my email... there it was! My first Etsy order!

Happiness :)

A Gift for Mother's Day

I never know what to get my mum for mothers day, she is very picky and has a very unique style!
I am always afraid of getting something that is not gonna get used and tossed to the side...
Last month me and my mum went to a craft fair in Essex and she saw a lovely bracelet that I never thought in a million years she would like! It was so not her usual style, unfortunately I had run out of money and had to leave it behind.
Regreting it later I went in search of something similar and this is what I came accross in Etsy.
Coincidently it was a UK Etsian which obviously helped with the postage costs (being local & all).
The shops name is Dainty Pretty Things, they have some beautiful jewellery, shipping wasn't very fast but the bracelet was so beautiful that I was so pleased!!!
My mum is gonna love it!
What did you get your mum?
I have a very slim chance of getting anything material this year... my son is only 2 and my daughter is still in my belly and due in June!!! But I know I will get lots of lovies and kisses from my little one & my hubby and that is worth millions!!!!

New Products

I added some bits to My Funny Bunny on Etsy as well as having a bit of a lift!

I made some real cute Toddler Washing Mitts that are a real treat for the kids, they slip onto their hands and they can wash themselves! Of course it's more like they keep them occupied while you do the real washing!!

My son loves his and it make washing time much faster for me with less fuss!

I made 3 in a lovely Limited Edition Under the Sea print... I only have a little bit of this towelling so when its gonne its gonne! If you want one be fast!

Hope you like them!!!

Handmade Movement SNEAK ATTACK!

Just recently I started subscribing to Etsy's newsletters & they are totally worth it!

You get gift guides and sellers newsletters which is great to help you with your Etsy venture.

Just today I got one and its so cool that I thought I would share it with all of you!

Extract from Etsy newsletter: "Since the end of September, The Handmade Movement has sponsored 67 attacks on a total of 81 shops, resulting in 973 sales! That amounts to about $6000 worth of products bought from these up-and-coming shops over the course of just over four months. Here are the stories of just a handful of those shops."

Basically there is a HANDMADE MOVEMENT going on that is organized by Etsy Sellers for Etsy Sellers!

On their website they do "Sneak Attacks" on unsuspecting new shops with 0 or few sales, which are scheduled at particular times in the week...you can see what they are in advance!

Then at that particular time you pounce on that shop and buy something!!!!

You can visit their website http://www.handmademovement.com/ and some success stories here on the Etsy Storque!

Its great and very heart warming! I am gonna try and be part of the next one on Monday @ 9am GMT time! Hope to see you there...

Who knows next time it could be you on the receiving end of a Sneak Attack!

Lily Bean Designs

Oooh...have I got something for you!!!

I put in an alchemy request on Etsy yesterday to find a graphic designer that I could work with, get my ideas, my style etc...
I needed a static web ad for advertising my blog on other sites. I had quite a lot of bids but mostly people didn't respond directly to my alchemy request... some I don't think even read it properly! Lots of people saying "Look at my shop for what I can do" blah blah and not actually putting any ideas or samples forward!

So finally I got a sample from one lady which was nice but didn't really get my "flava" and then I got Lily Bean Designs! She understood my request right from the start with her sample but it was an animated banner, not static... But I was so impressed that we tweaked it a bit and I bought it! In addition I got her to do a static one!
I was so pleased with the results!!! Its the web ad above and animated ad on the top right of the blog.
Dana is super nice, although there is a time difference, when I get her in the morning (afternoon in the UK!) she works with me until I am happy with what I invision. We also have a few things in common, apart from being of a similar age she also has a little one and is expecting the next one like me!!
If you are looking for a graphic designer at really affordable prices... I definately recommend Lily Bean Designs!
She does loads of different styles...have a look in her shop. I am now getting my Etsy Banner done too!
Go on give her a visit, you know you want to!! http://www.lilybeandesigns.etsy.com/
